Service Projects

Group volunteer service projects are a great way to help your community and the Nature Center. If your organization or school would like to help, please let us know.

Some examples of service projects that have been completed at the Nature Center include:

  • boardwalks built over wet areas along the trails
  • firewood storage sheds built at the public use cabin and yurts
  • trail maintenance and improvement projects
  • owl nesting boxes
  • garden improvements
  • invasive weed removal
  • cabin and yurt improvements

Each summer, we work with various scout troops to provide Eagle Scout projects. We ask that scouts contact our Director at info@ernc.org or 907-694-2108 at least 6 months prior to the projected deadline. Keep in mind that most projects are completed during the summer months, therefore scouts should inquire by late January. Please note that we are only able to take on a limited number of Eagle Scout Projects each year.
