The Eagle River Nature Center invites teachers to explore our many options for your school class to experience Alaska’s spectacular natural environment. You may come on a naturalist-guided fieldtrip choosing from our many School Program Topics, or come on a Self-guided fieldtrip, but you must make a reservation. Alternatively, you can ask us to bring our program to your classroom.
COSTS
Self-guided school classes pay $1/person in lieu of a vehicle parking fee. NEW fee structure starting January 2011: $1/student fee + $5 parking fee per private vehicle (no charge for school buses). PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP UNANNOUNCED WITH A LARGE GROUP. All self-guided classes are required to make an appointment.
Naturalist-guided programs cost $5/student (minimum $50) for half-day (program up to 2 hours) or $10/student for full day (program up to 4 hours.
NEW fee structure starting January 2011: $6/student (minimum $60) for half-day program or $12/student for full day program.
Outreach Programs cost $50 for the first hour and $40 for subsequent hours at the same location, plus mileage if outside Eagle River. NEW in 2011: $60 for first hour and $50 subsequent hours.
Teachers may contact our naturalist at (907) 694-9255 or email naturalist@ernc.org with any questions they may have regarding our programs, but all ASD teachers are required to make requests with ASD Community Resources at 742-4146 (or Fax requests to 742-4137).
When contacting us, please provide your name & contact information, date and time of requested visit, estimated # of children and adults. Also, please let us know if your group is planning to eat lunch at any of our public areas.
