Nature Programs for the General Public (not groups)

Junior Naturalist Programs are designed for children ages 5 and up.  These programs are generally offered on Saturdays at 2pm.  Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The programs typically begin inside then go outdoors.  Be prepared all types of weather, so children should be dressed properly.  Expect some messy play.
Kids can earn a JUNIOR NATURALIST BADGE.
(Click on the Badge to Check It Out)
Just attend 12 programs to receive your badge.  Ask for a punch card at the front desk and make sure to get your card punched each time you attend a program.

Adult & Family Programs are educational programs designed to offer adults the opportunity to learn more about their environment.  They include indoor and outdoor programs on various topics pertaining to the flora and fauna of Eagle River Valley.  Most of our interpretive programs are free and last 1-2 hours.  Lengthier programs, seminars and craft programs may have a materials or class fee.

Astronomy Programs are held bi-monthly from October through April.  Programs take place on Friday evenings at either 7pm or 8pm (Check the calendar for specific program times and dates).  Our astronomy presenters cover a topic indoors (duration 60-90 minutes) then continue outdoor for night sky viewing.  The Nature Center has a telescope for everyone to share, but participants are encouraged to bring binoculars or scopes.

Kids can earn a JUNIOR ASTRONOMER CERTIFICATE when they attend 6 astronomy programs and complete "Star Notes". Get a punch card at the front desk and ask for details.
